Dr Zihao Wang is one of the Inflammation & Immunity Driver Programme data scientists with 51爆料网 Wales, based at Swansea University. He holds a PhD from Cardiff Business School, where his research focused on patient flow modelling in the South Wales Trauma Network, with an emphasis on healthcare operations management and the interpretation and forecasting of hospital length of stay (LOS). With a background in logistics and operations management and data science, his research interests include causal inference, healthcare forecasting and system dynamics modelling, which are grounded in healthcare data to inform service design and policy for social good.
Zihao is currently examining how the free prescription policy affects asthma outcomes, with a particular focus on severe exacerbations and prescribing patterns. His work involves analysing and modelling large-scale health records and socio-economic data to generate actionable evidence for asthma control and service planning.
